“FMHS-PGSA cares about equity, support, and acknowledgment of the value of postgraduate students. In 2021, we petitioned for an increase to the doctoral scholarship stipend. Students deserve to be recognised for their contributions to university research outputs. They should be paid a stipend that allows them to live without financial stress. The stipend should allow people from all walks of life to complete doctoral study. The Marsden Fund, Heart Foundation, and Cancer Foundation raised their stipend by more than $5000 per annum in response to our petition.”
